Everyone Welcome

DermElite Beauty is proud to support and welcome transgender, non-binary & all
LGBTQ+ community clients.

Recent years have seen steps taken globally in the acceptance of gender diversity with a positive awareness towards persons of all sexuality, race, religion and physical ability. 2023 is fast becoming a safer environment for persons who may be embarking on their transition journey.

Despite these positive steps towards acceptance, persons undergoing transition still commonly fear being misgendered, outed or even attacked in public. These clients may benefit from the techniques of Medical Tattooing and Permanent Makeup (PMU) to enhance their chosen gender traits. Neither are primarily for vanity purposes. Medical tattooing can either add refining touches to surgical results or offer the more subtle improvements when surgery is not indicated.
Trans people also often seek Medical Tattooing to alleviate gender dysphoria by providing a boost to their self-confidence — which in turn enables them to more comfortably interact socially and with normality.

Permanent Makeup (PMU) has for a long time offered many options to enhance a persons facial features, including treatments for brows, eyeliner and lips. These treatments are incredibly versatile and are tailored to each individual to suit their skin tone, skin type, bone structure and desired aesthetic outcome.

PMU treatments can be used to create more masculine or feminine style looks or gender-affirming enhancements to brows, lips and eyes; making them an increasingly popular option for people as part of their transition journey.

In addition to PMU, Medical Tattooing is also gaining traction with requests from the trans community for a variety of facial and body corrective tattoo for example, 3D Areola Reconstruction/Revision and Scar Camouflage.

Here are some examples of how PMU and Medical Tattooing can be applied to transgender and non-binary clients.

Scar Revision after Facial Feminisation and Other Gender Affirming Surgery
Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) and Scar Camouflage can help to hide or improve the appearance of hair transplant or scalp incision scars (FUT and FUT) as well as facial hair removal scars and tracheal shave scars. SMP can create hairlines or give the hair the appearance of fullness. Scar camouflage using Skin Correcting Pigments can also be used following Phalloplasty, to help blend skin tones and even to give the illusion of veins as well as for Labiaplasty Orchiectomy scars.

Feminising & Masculinisation PMU
PMU can offer a variety of gender enhancing treatments from Lip Micropigmentation to improve the shape and colour of lips, subtle to bold eyeliner to feminise the eyes and Eyebrow Treatments to change the shape, thickness and density of the brow.

3D Areola Reconstruction/Revision
For clients who have undergone Male to Female reassignment, we are able to make the Areola larger to give a more feminine appearance following breast augmentation. This can also be used to improve the any scarring post surgery after mastoplexy (breast reduction).

Danielle has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to PMU, SMP and Medical Tattooing and understands how offering these services in a safe, private, accepting and respectful environment can finish off the reconstruction process and make people feel even more complete.

As well as regularly undergoing extensive up to date training Danielle, through personal research, has a great understanding of the changes which may occur to a client’s skin whilst they are undergoing hormone therapy. For example, testosterone is among the most common used hormones for individuals transitioning to present as male and is considered a steroid – this can impact the texture of the skin, enhance bleeding and increase sebum production. This means that Danielle can adjust her technique and the treatment accordingly whilst working on individuals who are undergoing testosterone treatments to avoid excess bleeding, which in turn will give them better pigment retention and a lasting natural result.
